Skoda Kylaq is a sub-4-meter compact SUV and has been launched at ₹ 7.89 Lakh. The car is offered with 999 cc turbo petrol engine and both manual and automatic transmission options. Other key specifications of the Kylaq include a boot space of 446 Litres and a configuration of 6 airbags. Additionally, the car is available in 6 colours and offers a mileage of 20 kmpl. This could be India’s most fun to drive car at Rs 8 lakh!
The Skoda Kylaq misses out on ADAS features, but it claws back with a five-star rated platform at the GNCAP. The Kylaq looks stylish, the interiors feel premium, and it packs a decent set of features as well. However, the ownership experience and the pricing of all variants will determine its impact in the market.
What we admire in this car
- Looks like the mini Kushaq
- Good build quality uses the same platform as Kushaq and Slavia
- The decently equipped interior gets segment-first features like a powered co-driver seat
- The 17-inch wheels offer a good stance and a big car feel
- 446 litres of boot space, expendable to a massive 1,265 litress
- – The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine offers adequate performance
Hints of the Kushaq present, but the Kylaq has its own identity and looks properly premium
- The Kylaq is the first Skoda car in India to come with the Modern Solids design language. As such, it makes use of some new design elements.
- The Skoda grille has been redesigned to align with the new design language, and it gets a split headlamp treatment with DRLs placed above the headlamps.
- The presence of cladding all around gives it a tougher, more imposing stance, and the profile is typically Skoda; understated, clean, and yet fresh and modern.
- The design of the alloy rims is completely new, and the rear of the Kylaq receives smaller, square-ish tail lamps, with a black element and Skoda lettering on the tailgate.
